4) Learn to Consult Qualified People but Make
your own Decisions -
The key here is to surround yourself with an army of advisors and consultants
but consider yourself the general in charge. Napoleon always consulted
with his top aides, but he also made all the major decisions himself.
5) Learn to Reign in your Fears - We are afraid, first and foremost,
of our abilities. We posses so much power, we can do so much, that
often the mere possibility of a tremendous success sends us hurrying
in exactly the opposite direction. So how do we develop the courage
to succeed? Just by going out there and doing whatever we were meant
to do. It’s that simple.
6) Learn to Accept Failure as Feedback - We are defined by the way
we approach failure. Some of us look at failure as a disaster while
others know that failure is temporary and that we can always pick ourselves
up and start again. What matters is having the courage to move on.
7) Understand that everything you do is a Learning
Opportunity - Many
times, your final calling will include elements of all your dreams.
You will synthesize these elements into something new and exciting.
It’s difficult to see our mistakes as learning opportunities when they’re
happening. Instead, we tend to think that we’ve wasted our time, but
that simply isn’t true.
